I got an email this morning that really made my day! Etsy seller lunahoo included my "Statement Necklace" in her Treasury!!! Here's a snapshot of the "So Nice" treasury she created (and where you can see my necklace).
Daffodils are in season now here in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. I got these wild ones growing in my garden. Wish you could smell them! Their pungent perfume is so exciting and intoxicating at the same time. I dare say I picked the bulbs from a field a few years ago, which in my opinion is a form of preserving this species, seeing that the whole island is being built up so much, soon we will have no wild life at all!
If I could say just one thing about this necklace, that would be that it's unusual.
Actually, I could say a lot more things about it! It's beautiful, for sure, it is statement-making (it shouts "I'm UNIQUE"), it took me altogether quite a few hours to make it, it's attractive, it's colorful, it's got a nice weight to it (not too heavy and not flimsy at all), and most of all I MADE IT! So I guess you could say that I'm very proud of my newest creation! Enjoy!
Necklace to match the color of champagne. Three handmade clay beads in golden champagne color threaded with a shimmery organza ribbon in gold. Looks so chic and stylish with a black strapless top or dress. So sexy!!
Out of all my Etsy favorites, archaicdesign is the one I keep going back to for inspiration and just whenever my eyes need a dose of candy rush. All her designs are beautiful, but her "Sanguine Necklace" has got to be my most favorite of all my favorites :)
Beautiful rocks all clustered together and wire wrapped in sterling silver.
There were some irresitible looking quince at the supermarket the other day that were begging me to take them home. So I did..... and what did I do with them? Well I found this easy, delicious-looking recipe for "dulce de membrillo" (quince paste) and decided to try it out.
Here's a picture of my results, and yes, it's as delicious as it looks on my picture:
I'm experimenting with a new style of earrings, and I think I like the results! My daughter also liked them and volunteered to model them for my pics. These are now availble at my Etsy shop: Burgundy and Mustard Earrings (with free shipping worldwide, of course!)
I've been going crazy lately making all these crochet rings in different colors and sizes. I love creating jewelry out of these. I lay them down on the working board and start putting them together.... just like a puzzle, until the right design pops up and then I get to work assembling my new necklace, earrings, cuff, etc... the ideas and combinations are endless!
I live on the island of love - Cyprus, in a house with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea, with my husband 2 teenage kids and 2 beautiful German Shephards. When I'm not creating I feel like I don't exist....
